Body Composition Assessment (30min)

Assessment of your body composition using girth and ISAK skinfold calipers to understand your body fat percentage.
Using girth and skinfold measurements to understand body composition and estimate body fat %
Pre-assessment and discussion of training/health goals and history
Using our ISAK skinfolds, we then obtain measurements by a pinch of the skin to measure the thickness using the calipers. We assess 4-7 sites which provides body fat %, leans mass % and girth measurements
Repeated testing allows for monitoring and tracking of these key variables and the effectiveness of nutrition & training strategies

You will learn about several aspects of your cardiovascular fitness, including:

  • Resting Energy Expenditure: Is a measure of your individual daily energy expenditure at rest
  • Resting Heart Rate (RHR): Describes your heart rate at rest, with normative data within the population providing useful insights into your health.
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV): Describes the variability in time between each heartbeat, primarily controlled by the autonomic nervous system (ANS). A higher HRV is assoicated with better health and fitness.
  • Body Mass Index (BMI): A measure of your weight relative to your height
  • Caloric Balance: Describes the energy/caloric requirements used by your body at rest, during the day whilst performing activity and how this is balanced with your goal (reduce weight, maintain or increase weight). It is a specific, objective value of your individual energy burn, and your target caloric ingestion goal to achieve your composition goal
