ENHANCE RUNNING PERFORMANCE & REHABILITATION

ANTI-GRAVITY OVERSPEED TREADMILL RUNNING

Our Anti-Gravity Running system uses unweighting technology to reduce the impact on your joints while allowing you to move at high speeds — safely and efficiently. Whether you’re recovering from injury, returning to running, or looking to push your performance, this is the tool elite runners, those recovering from injuries, and endurance athletes trust.

Anti-Gravity Treadmill running is appropriate for those looking to return to running following injury or reduce running related pain
Our Anti-Gravity Treadmill equipment allows for precise off-loading to protect tissue and optimise the return-to-tun phase of rehabiliatation. Further, it can also be used to enhance running performance.
Pre-assessment and discussion of training/injury goals & history
Antigravity rehailitation / overspeed training session using the LEVER kit
Complete guidance under experienced clinicians to guide progression
Training load management & planning
IDEAL FOR:
Individuals who have struggled to return to running due to previous injuries, surgeries or pain and are looking for a safe, data-driven method of returning to running. Further, anti-gravity running (or overspeed running) can be used to enhance running performance through training the nervous system to improve running form, improving running pace.

Anti-Gravity Overspeed running is appropriate for those looking to improve running performance through anti-gravity loading
Overspeed running trains your nervous system to move faster by exposing it to higher-than-normal speeds, improving stride frequency and running efficiency.

Antigravity overspeed training session using the LEVER kit

Training load management & planning
IDEAL FOR:
Overspeed running is ideal for performance-driven athletes aiming to improve stride frequency, turnover, and running economy. It helps train the nervous system to adapt to higher speeds than normal, leading to faster and more efficient movement. It’s especially beneficial for runners looking to break through speed plateaus and refine running mechanics.

You will learn about several aspects of your cardiovascular fitness, including:

  • Anti-Gravity Running: A form of bodyweight-supported treadmill running that reduces impact forces using suspension or lifting systems (like the LEVER system), allowing you to train with reduced joint stress.

  • Bodyweight Support (BWS): A method of offloading a percentage of your body weight during running. Common BWS ranges are 10–40%, used to reduce impact, manage pain, or increase speed safely.
  • Overspeed Training: A technique where athletes run at speeds beyond their natural max (thanks to BWS), helping improve stride frequency, neuromuscular coordination, and running economy.
  • Ground Reaction Force (GRF): The force exerted by the ground back onto your body with each step. Anti-gravity systems reduce GRF, making it easier on joints during high-volume or rehab running.
  • Return to Run Protocol (RTR): A structured progression of reintroducing running post-injury. Anti-gravity running often forms the early phase of RTR to rebuild tolerance gradually and safely.
  • Running Economy: A measure of how efficiently your body uses oxygen while running. BWS training can improve neuromuscular control and form, contributing to better running economy over time.
  • Vertical Load Rate (VLR): The speed at which force is applied during foot strike. Reducing vertical load rate is critical in managing bone stress injuries and tendinopathy — and anti-gravity running helps modulate this safely.
  • Flight Time (FT) & Contact Time (CT): Metrics used to assess stride mechanics. Anti-gravity running allows runners to maintain efficient flight/contact patterns without compensatory mechanics caused by pain or overload.
